Lisk Homes, (previously Benchmark Homes) has been building luxury custom homes of exceptional quality and remodeling projects since 1995.  Since the very beginning, the goal at Lisk Homes has been to provide top-notch quality, superior customer service, excellent job and job site management, and all at a fair price.

Homeowners can choose from many builders.  Our customers choose us because they have busy schedules and don’t have the time or knowledge to manage their own job, let alone their builder.  Our customers have the peace of mind that we will listen to their needs and what is important to them and then go to work to make it happen without the stress that is often anticipated.  Our customers select us because they have an idea of the ultimate look that they want but don’t understand the options, the process, and in many cases, what quality work is.  We take the time to explore and explain the options so that the customer is as involved as they care to be.  They quickly realize that we are there to guide them and advise them throughout the job, and to even disagree when our experience warns us that other options should be considered.  They also select us because they understand that we manage a job with the end product in mind, including how the space is to be enjoyed and the total price.  Rather that feeling like an open checkbook, they know that their end cost will be their original contract cost, unless they make changes.

One day, our sales rep for Cooper Stairs said to one of our customers during a preconstruction meeting, “You’re fortunate.  You’ll never know all the struggles you might have had (with another builder).”   He had first hand knowledge of how so many local builders poorly manage their jobs and the stress that puts on their customers and he also knew how our customers did not experience the same stress.  That was quite a compliment.

With the experience of over 100 local custom homes, hundreds of remodeling projects, and over 30 years of building exposure in Lake County alone, Robert Lisk, the Owner of Lisk Homes, instills in his customers the confidence that anything they desire can be achieved.  For most people, dealing with a construction project of any size or the ongoing maintenance of their existing house can be intimidating and stressful and at the core of their desires is to be dealt with fairly, honestly, with open communication, and eliminate that intimidation.  These are the cornerstones of customer service for Lisk Homes.  Our customers also have the luxury of knowing that they always have constant access to Robert.

Robert Lisk and his family live in Lake Forest.  He studied architecture and engineering with the award-winning and often published faculty at the University of Southern California.  He graduated with a Civil Engineering and Construction Degree.  He received his MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.  He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders; a Green Building Professional; and was a member of Builder 20, a nation-wide master mind group of some of the most accomplished custom home builders and remodelers.  As a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, Benchmark Homes has won numerous awards including a Gold Key Award and several Silver and Bronze Key Awards.  Robert is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois.
